چکیده

We determined the shape of membrane cylinder adherent to a flat support and derived the relationship between the energy of membrane adhesion and the geometncal charactenstics of membrane contour The obtained theoretical results allow an altemative method of adhesion energj measurement in addition to the method which includes the measurement of contact angle Two different cases are analytically analysed zero transmembrane pressure differential at which the shape of the membrane is determined entirely by the bending effects, second, high transmembrane pressure differential whose action surpasse the effect of bending elasticity In the first case the adhesion energy is expressed only through the lengths of adsorbed and free parts of membrane contour which can be readly measured by optical methods In second case the expression for adhesion energy includes the additional geometrical characteristic the curvature ofmembrane contour in the pole which can be also calculated from the results of optical expenments The distribution of force factors along the membrane is

Three-dimensional calculations of the magnetic fields in a finite superconducting hollow cylinder in an applied axial magnetic field

In this study, a set of self-consistent coupled-integral equations for the local magnetic flux and current distributions in a finite superconducting hollow cylinder under an axial magnetic field has been directly derived by using the Biot-Savart law within the framework of the critical-state model. The equations were first solved numerically in the three-dimensional space before obtaining the h...

Cylindrical Colloids on a Fluid Membrane

We theoretically study the adhesion and membrane-mediated interaction of cylindrical colloids to a flat fluid membrane. There are two ways to approach this problem. The first way, based on energy, requires finding the equilibrium shape of the membrane given the placement of the particle(s). In order to do so, we need to know how the energy of the surface depends on its shape (i.e. the surface H...

Shear Waves Through Non Planar Interface Between Anisotropic Inhomogeneous and Visco-Elastic Half-Spaces

A problem of reflection and transmission of a plane shear wave incident at a corrugated interface between transversely isotropic inhomogeneous and visco-elastic half-spaces is investigated. Applying appropriate boundary conditions and using Rayleigh’s method of approximation expressions for reflection and transmission coefficients are obtained for the first and second order approximation of the...

Simulation of Premixed Combustion Flow around Circular Cylinder using Hybrid Random Vortex

This research describes the unsteady two-dimensional reacting flows around a circular cylinder. The numerical solution combines the random vortex method for incompressible two-dimensional viscous fluid flow with a Simple Line Interface Calculation (SLIC) algorithm for the propagation of flame interface. To simplify the governing equations, two fundamental assumptions namely Low Mach Number and ...
